Chung-Pin Lin attended Burnside High School as a student, 1987-1989, after his family
emigrated to New Zealand from Taiwan. Despite his blindness,he achieved an A Bursary
in 1989, in part due to his philosophy that any thing is posible to achieve, and
also in part to his engaging personality which ensured he always had many helpful
class-mates to assist him in his studies.
At University he initially studied Engineering, but this soon broadened to include
Mathematics, French, German, Philosophy and Law. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics
from the University of Canterbury. He also developed a passion for wine tasting
during his student days, eventually leading him towards a post-graduate diploma
course in Wine Science and to his curent position as consultant wine maker for Mountford
Estate.
He is recognised world-wide for his expertise in this field.
